Elder Darnold T. Catlon

Pastor

Best known as a prophetic preacher who can get an “old fashioned” prayer through, Elder Darnold T. Catlon is the proud pastor of the Greater Freeman Church of God in Christ. Teacher, Evangelist, psalmist, motivational speaker and workshop leader, Elder Catlon believes that the only way to “Make It” in these “End Times” is to stay connected to God.

He is the founder and C.E.O. of True Values Community Outreach, a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. Elder Catlon is a native of Lake Charles, LA. He is a graduate of McNeese State University and C. H. Mason Bible College. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government (Pre-Law), teacher certification and a Master's Degree in Education - Educational Leadership-Med.

He is married to Evangelist Ethel L. Catlon and they have one daughter. Elder Catlon served as the Jurisdictional Executive Secretary for the First Jurisdiction of Louisiana where he served and assisted the Honorable Bishop Roy. L. H. Winbush, former General Board Member C.O.G.I.C. Inc. He currently serves as the Jurisdictional Executive Secretary for the Historical Louisiana First, under the leadership of the Honorable Bishop James W. Proctor. He is the Chairman of the Lake Charles District. He is a former District Youth President and member of the Jurisdictional Executive Board.
Outside of the church, he is an Educator in the Calcasieu Parish School System where he has been employed for 34 years. He received the “Sally Mae Award” for outstanding first year teacher and was honored as the 2011 Calcasieu Parish Teacher of the Year. He currently serves as Assistant Principal at WW Lewis Middle School.

Aside from many awards, honors and recognitions that he has received and the many boards and committees that he has chaired and been a member of, Elder Catlon feels that there is no greater fulfillment than that of service in the Master’s will. He is a gifted and anointed man of God who operates in the Spirit of God and is led by the Spirit of God. He walks by faith and can often be heard saying, “It doesn’t matter what it looks like, feels like, tastes like nor smells like, God can still work it out. Why? Because, He is God and only wants to be your God.”

Evangelist Ethel Catlon
Elect Lady

First Lady Ethel L. Catlon is the daughter of Paul and Katherine Pattum. She was raised in a Christian home with the strong influence of an extended Christian family at the Power House Church of God In Christ in Jennings, LA. Through the teaching of the late, Mother Hazel Davis, First Lady was taught the difference between “clean and unclean" and "Holy and unholy".

After serving time in the United States Navy, First Lady Catlon went back to Power House Church of God In Christ where she rededicated her life to God. Later, at a USAC Convention in the women’s day service, under the direction of Supervisor Vanessa Winbush Gatlin, First Lady received the Gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongue.

Lady Catlon is a dedicated mother and wife. The bible tells us in Psalm 84:11 "the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." and because of that promise, God has placed Alonzia and Pastor Darnold T. Catlon in her life. Elder Darnold T. Catlon serves at the pastor of Greater Freeman Church of God in Christ.
